Free Hugs
If you want free hugs, just keep reading!
Starting off as a social movement campaign in Australia by one individual who simply wanted to bring people together by sharing one short moment of positive vibe, free hugs now dominate the Festival world. Since 2010, even AIDS charity organisations use the power of Free Hugs to help deliver the message of equality, love and community.
The guy who gave out the first Free Hug calls himself Juan Mann and started, what we came to know and love, especially on Festival soil. Although today Free Hugs are used for other campaigns, Hugging grew to be an important attitude on Festivals and no one wants to be left out.

Using the vibe we all preach, event planners sent out their Huggers to help spread the same message and bring all festival lovers closer together. And that was only the beginning...
#freehugs went viral! Visitors, organisers, drunks, band members and many more got infected with love and started approaching Huggers with their signs. And once you were in the zone, there was hardly a way out. Hugging for free became the ultimate Festival trend, shared, encouraged and loved by us.
You and me; we've all received and given free hugs, don't deny it! ;)
Why?
- Because why not!
Festivals are designed to be a different world. Organisers, just like us, want us to forget what's out there and live in the moment in order to share Online and Face-to-Face our experiences. Hugging is an easy and effective way to spread word and action, It creates memories and visitors reflect positively on it, so they are likely to come back the following year.
